I am having keyboard problems with new keyboards after my my last one died. The basic thing is that if the PC goes to sleep, I can windows 10 laptop keyboard not working after sleep free it with the keyboard but the keyboard then dies. The exception is if I use the “Wake” key on the keyboard, in which case the keyboard continues to work.

I have noticed that when the keyboard dies, the keyboard entry in Device Manager disappears. Scanning for New Hardware does nothing. Doing similar with DevCon does nothing. Unplugging and re-plugging the keyboard brings it back to life. I’ve tried disabling “usb selective suspend” in Advanced Power Settings. Do you remember making any changes to the system prior to this issue? I would suggest you to try the following methods:.

Run the hardware troubleshooter and check if it helps. Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. Uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver.

In Device Manager, double click on the Keyboards. It will show you the device driver name, select that device and then right click on it. Sindows the uninstalling the drivers restart the computer. If the above lapop fails then make sure that you have updated the drivers for the keyboard from the manufacturer website. Update a driver for hardware that isn’t working properly.

Verify if the keyboard is enabled to wake the computer out of sleep mode. Click on Start and then latpop on Control panel. Open the Keyboard control panel item. It’s taken since then and a new Zalman keyboard to work out it is not a hardware problem. I’ve no idea which changes have happened since then. Method 1 – I’ll do later.

Method 2 Step 1. Just done again. No improvement. I have also cleared all the hidden keyboard devices. I tried the update, but Windows Update is up to date. I’ve also tried the option to search the internet to find the latest driver and it says I have the up to date one. Method 2 Step 2 – Keyboard is set to allow it to wake up the PC. In reply to Amit K Verma’s post on February 5, Well, that was a challenge. Firstly I’ve tried four or five usb ports with the same result. Method 1: It found nothing wrong. Method 2: Not so easy as you have to make sure the last device you remove is the one with the mouse attached. For anyone bumping into this thread, you have to look at the Power tab of the USB Root hub to work out which Root Hub has the mouse attached. When you find it, go to the general tab and note the Location.

This is the last controller to delete. Also, once deleted, how do you shut the PC down? Unfortunately the problem still persists.
